Website Contact Extractor ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension developed by Dhruv Savaliya. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Extension accesses, how it is used, and your rights as a user.

By installing or using the Extension, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

 

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

We are committed to your privacy. The Website Contact Extractor does not:

•        Collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers

•        Send any data to the developer or any third party

•        Track your browsing history or habits

•        Use analytics, telemetry, or crash reporting services

•        Require account creation or login

•        Use cookies or any persistent tracking mechanisms

•        Share any data with advertisers or data brokers

 

3. How the Extension Works

Website Contact Extractor operates entirely within your local browser. Here is exactly what it does:

3.1 Page Content Access

When you click "Scan This Page," the Extension reads the visible text and HTML of the currently active tab to identify:

•        Email addresses present on the page

•        Phone numbers present on the page

•        Social media profile links (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, GitHub)

•        Team member names and job titles referenced on the page

•        Internal links to contact, about, or team pages

This data is processed entirely in your browser memory and is never transmitted anywhere.

3.2 Local Storage

The Extension uses your browser's localStorage only to remember your Light/Dark mode preference. No contact data, scanned results, or personal information is stored in localStorage.

3.3 Excel Export

When you click "Export All to Excel (.xlsx)," the Extension generates a spreadsheet file entirely in your browser and triggers a download to your local device. No data is uploaded to any server during this process.

 

4. Permissions Used

The Extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

activeTab

Allows the Extension to access the content of the currently active tab when you explicitly click "Scan This Page." The Extension cannot access other tabs or run in the background without your action.

scripting

Allows the Extension to inject the scanning script into the active page when you initiate a scan. This is required to read page content from the popup interface.

No other permissions are requested. The Extension does not use: tabs, storage, downloads, history, bookmarks, or any network/host permissions.

 

5. Data Retention

The Extension does not retain any data between sessions. All extracted contact information exists only in the popup's memory while it is open. Closing the popup clears all data. Nothing is persisted to disk, cloud, or remote storage.

 

6. Third-Party Services

The Extension does not integrate with, communicate with, or share data with any third-party services, APIs, or analytics platforms. All processing is 100% local and offline.

 

7. Children's Privacy

The Extension is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. The Extension collects no personal information from anyone of any age.

 

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. Continued use of the Extension after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
