1. Introduction

Welcome to QR Link Studio, a Chrome Extension developed by Dhruv Savaliya. This Privacy Policy explains how QR Link Studio handles information when you use the extension. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

By installing and using QR Link Studio, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these terms, please uninstall the extension.

2. Information We Collect

QR Link Studio is designed with privacy as a core principle. The extension operates entirely within your browser and does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information. Specifically:

•         URLs / Links: The URLs you paste into the extension are processed locally within your browser to generate QR codes. These URLs are never sent to any remote server operated by us.

•         Images: Any image you upload to style your QR code is processed entirely on your local device. Images are not uploaded to or stored on any external server.

•         Generated QR Codes: QR codes generated by the extension are created locally and stored only in your browser memory until you download or close the extension. We do not retain copies.

•         Usage Data: We do not collect analytics, usage statistics, crash reports, or any telemetry data about how you use the extension.

3. How We Use Information

Since QR Link Studio does not collect personal data, we do not use your information for any purpose beyond providing the core functionality of the extension — namely, generating stylised QR codes from URLs and images you supply.

All processing happens locally on your device using browser-native APIs and JavaScript libraries bundled with the extension.

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

QR Link Studio does not share, sell, rent, or trade any user data with third parties. The extension does not integrate with third-party analytics services, advertising networks, or data brokers.

The extension does not make any network requests to external servers during normal operation. All QR code generation and image processing is performed locally.

5. Chrome Extension Permissions

QR Link Studio requests only the minimum permissions necessary to function. The permissions used are:

•         Storage (optional / local): Used solely to save your preferences (such as download format preference) locally on your device via chrome.storage.local. This data never leaves your device.

•         Downloads: Required to enable the 'Download' button so you can save generated QR codes as PNG images or PDF files to your local filesystem.

We do not request permissions to access your browsing history, tabs, cookies, or any other sensitive browser data.

6. Children's Privacy

QR Link Studio is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the extension, please contact us so we can address it promptly.

7. Security

Because QR Link Studio processes all data locally and does not transmit data to external servers, the risk of data interception or unauthorized access is minimized by design. We follow best practices in extension development, including Manifest V3 compliance and minimal permission scopes, to ensure the extension operates securely within your browser sandbox.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the extension's functionality or applicable laws. When we make changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this policy and, where required, provide notice through the Chrome Web Store listing.
