Privacy Policy For SwiftCalc
SwiftCalc Privacy Policy
Effective Date:
February 24, 2026 · Version 1.0
Thank you for using SwiftCalc, a
minimalist Chrome extension calculator developed by Dhruv Savaliya. This
Privacy Policy explains what information SwiftCalc collects, how it is used,
and your rights as a user. We are committed to protecting your privacy — and as
you will see, there is very little to protect against.
1. Information We Collect
SwiftCalc does not collect,
transmit, sell, or share any personal information. The extension operates
entirely on your local device. The only data stored by SwiftCalc is:
•
Your dark/light mode preference
•
Your autosave toggle preference (on or off)
•
Your local calculation history (up to 50 entries), only
if autosave is enabled
All of the above is stored using
Chrome's local storage API (chrome.storage.local), which keeps data
exclusively on your device. It is never sent to any external server, third
party, or cloud service.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
SwiftCalc does not collect any
of the following:
•
Personal identification information (name, email, phone
number, address)
•
Browsing history or web activity
•
Financial data or payment information
•
Device identifiers or hardware information
•
IP addresses or location data
•
Cookies or tracking technologies
•
Crash reports or usage analytics
•
Any form of telemetry or diagnostics
3. How We
Use Your Data
The locally stored preferences
and history are used solely to:
•
Remember your theme preference (dark or light mode)
between sessions
•
Remember whether you have autosave enabled or disabled
•
Display your recent calculation history within the
extension popup
No data is processed,
analysed, or used for any purpose beyond providing the core calculator
functionality.
4. Data Sharing & Third Parties
SwiftCalc does not share any
data with third parties. There are no advertisers, analytics providers, data
brokers, or any other third parties involved with this extension. SwiftCalc
contains no third-party SDKs, tracking libraries, or external API calls of any
kind.
5.
Permissions Requested
SwiftCalc requests only one
Chrome permission:
•
storage — Used exclusively to save your theme
preference, autosave setting, and calculation history locally on your own
device. This permission does not provide access to any browsing data or files.
No other permissions are
requested or required.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
You are in full control of your
data at all times:
•
You can clear your calculation history at any time
using the "Clear All" button inside the History panel
•
You can disable autosave at any time, preventing any
further history from being saved
•
Uninstalling the extension permanently removes all
locally stored data from your device
•
You can also manually clear extension storage via
Chrome Settings → Privacy and Security → Clear Browsing Data
7.
Children's Privacy
SwiftCalc does not knowingly
collect any data from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since no
personal information is collected at all, SwiftCalc is safe for users of all
ages.
8.
Security
Since SwiftCalc does not
transmit any data over the internet, the risk of a data breach is effectively
zero. All data remains on your local device and is governed by Chrome's
built-in security model.
9. Changes
to This Privacy Policy
If this Privacy Policy is ever
updated, the new version will be published on the Chrome Web Store listing page
and the effective date will be updated accordingly. Continued use of SwiftCalc
after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
